About Me

I don't like to talk about myself, save to say that I'm a teacher, I live on the East Yorkshire coast and amongst other things I make artist bears in my spare time.

About my bears

Each bear which I make is cut out, stuffed, stitched and jointed by hand. A bear can take anything up to two days to make and a lot of care, attention and concentration.

The early bears such as Mr Rafferty were made using patterns which I had bought, however more recently I have been designing my own patterns using Teddy Bear Art (Jennifer Laing) as my reference bible.

Mohair is a wonderful material to work with and makes bears that you know will last for a lifetime (and longer!). Synthetic materials such as those used for Digby can be much harder to stitch with, however they create such an adorable range of characters!

Bear Adoptions and Commissions

Thankfully most of my bears are found loving homes before they're even created - they've proven to be very popular with friends and family and I even have a waiting list. However, from time to time a bear will be born who isn't so fortunate. Whilst I try to give each of them the love and attention which they need I do need your help to make sure that each is as happy as they can be.

If you think that you could offer a caring home to one of my bears then please contact me.

If, like me, you prefer all bears to have a home from birth then please contact me to discuss an individually designed commission.
